It shows his sister and parents holding the Children’s Champion Award, which they received at the glamorous event held at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach on Feb. 8. The prestigious award recognized the Ryan Seacrest Foundation‘s positive impact on children.
Indeed, the Foundation has significantly helped children at CHOC. In 2013, CHOC — in partnership with the Foundation — opened Seacrest Studios, an in-house multimedia studio that brings music, video and entertainment directly into patients’ hospital rooms. Open now for almost a year, the studio allows patients to explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media — and lets kids feel like kids, even when hospitalized.
Themed “50 Years of Caring,” the gala drew about 550 attendees and raised about $1.3 million to support CHOC Children’s. The Children’s Champion Award was among the event’s many highlights, including an auction and a performance from songstress Sheryl Crow.
By all accounts, gala attendees had a wonderful time at the soiree. My tuxedo was at the dry cleaners, so I couldn’t come and thank all the guests personally for their steadfast support for CHOC.
Instead, I offer virtual appreciation: To all who attended the gala, please accept my gratitude for your unwavering generosity.
